The anti-lock brake system (ABS) helps the driver maintain directional control while braking by preventing wheel lock-up. When the ABS system is activated, the system modulates (pulses) the brakes rapidly slowing the vehicle until the system no longer is needed. During turns it automatically balances brake forces at each wheel, helping to keep the vehicle stable while braking and cornering simultaneously.
